Pierre became a mentor to support Sven’s development and share practical experience. What surprised him most was that mentoring quickly became a mutual learning experience, providing valuable insights and new perspectives for both mentor and mentee.

What surprised me most was that mentoring is not a one-way process. While I was supporting Sven’s development, the discussions also challenged some of my own assumptions and gave me new insights.
The experience reinforced something I have learned throughout my career. Good leadership starts with listening. Taking the time to understand people, their ideas, and their challenges often leads to better decisions and better outcomes than immediately providing answers.
